Life Saving Equipment

Automated external defibrillators (AED) are at various public locations across the borough. These AEDs can restart someone’s heart in the event of a cardiac arrest and in an emergency situation can be
used by someone untrained.

The AEDs that are 24/7 access are stored in locked boxes. When someone calls 999 the operator will direct someone to and provide them with the code to unlock the box.

South Central Ambulance Service have more information on their website linked below. This includes a link to an app for iPhones called 'Save a Life' which lists the locations of AEDs, the Android version is unavailable at present. Searching the android play store there are a number of apps which say they are locations of AEDs, we cannot verify there accuracy.

If you know of an AED which is not shown on the app, you can email South Central Ambulance to let them know at defib@scas.nhs.uk
