Bracknell Forest - Health Needs Assessment consultation

A Health Needs Assessment (HNA) is being developed across Berkshire East to understand health needs and behaviours of the local population in relation to diet, physical activity, smoking and low-level alcohol use.

This work is being undertaken collaboratively by the unitary authorities of Bracknell Forest, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), Slough and colleagues across the NHS. The purpose of this HNA is to inform the commissioning of integrated health behaviour (healthy lifestyle) services in Berkshire East, and to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in service provision.

The aims of the HNA are two-fold: to understand the health needs of adults in Bracknell Forest and health inequalities with the three unitary authorities and to the guide the commissioning process for the integrated health behaviour service.

To achieve these aims, the following questions will need to be answered by the HNA:

  • What are the health needs of residents In Berkshire East?
  • What differences exist in the unitary authorities that contribute to unjust health outcomes?
  • What does a good integrated health behaviours service look like?
