About this event

Starting in March 2024, a new pilot will see Mental Health First Aid training offered to carers, friends and family members of people accessing Berkshire's Mental Health Services.

Katie Humphrey, Carers Lead at Berkshire Healthcare said "We recognise the significant role friends, families and carers play in helping our service users to support their recovery and maintain their wellbeing. We've received feedback from carers highlighting the need for improved awareness and skills to support them in their vital role in supporting their loved ones."

Under the One Team project, this pilot will offer fully funded places for carers to attend the two-day course either face-to-face or online. The nationally recognised course, provided by Mental Health First Aid England, is designed to teach people how to spot the signs and symptoms of poor mental health and how to provide first-aid assistance.

In-person Training

Location: London House, Bracknell, RG12 2UT

Dates: 18th March 2024 and 19th March 202

Online Training

Location: You will need access to an internet-enabled device. This training will take place over Zoom.

Dates: 16th April 2024 and 24th April 2024.

There are 32 places available for the initial pilot training, 16 of those online and 16 in-person places. As these places are limited, they will be offered on a first come first serve basis.
